    Hi guys..

Further to my other West Malling threads...Here are some pics of my trip to the control tower that still stands. It is one of the best examples of art deco towers that remains. After a few friendly chats a nice security guard let me have a wander inside as it is now secure/fenced with 24 hr security on site.

It was a lovely sunny day and very nostalgic wandering about ( taking aside the houses now nearby)...To think tonnes of history here as a WW2 base.... Guy Gibson was based here...Monty visited and in 1943 German Focke Wulf 190 landed here by accident ( In numerous books there are quite a few pics of it parked outside the tower..bet he wished he had Sat Nav hehe :D ) In the early 80s cheesy wartime drama 'Well meet again' was filmed here as well.

    Hope you like...

    Going upstairs...

Blimey its foggy...How will I guide these planes in lol

Going up top...so far no markings etc of note

    At last...a sign!

View from top balcony...s@@t wheres the runway gone :D

    There was radar here somewhere...

Took numerous pics and was surprised how many rooms in the place! As you can imagine since WW2 the place went through numerous internal changes/modernisation so its left with an 80s feel...Enjoy!
