Just a quick visit with Nelly & P7
In the late 19th century there was a large auction room in Chelmsford which had been designed to be adapted on occasion for use as a playhouse or theatre.
The William Clachar's Playhouse was a large brick building erected in the back and side premises.

A few years ago the historic auction house was ravaged by fire.
Firebugs are being blamed for the devastating blaze
Thanks to the recession plans to develop the site have been mothballed and left to rot.
Nearby residents are concerned about the dangers to health and safety as well as the blot on the landscape it presents.

Thanks for looking in SK :)
