    History -

Been wanting to visit for a few years but never got my act together. The Trust had an open day on 10th October 2010 and I was surprised at the House access they allowed. I left the tripod by my front door and only remember as I was parking up - doh! So apologies for some of the shots.

The 1917 fire destroyed most of it and in the 1950's the stairs were destroyed to stop people from getting into the upper levels of the house and steeling the lead etc, other parts were blown up with dynamite or stolen / borrowed for use in other Manor Houses.

    Front details and sun clock

    Second staircase

    Some original features remain

A room on the second floor

    Remains of the conservatory

The Cellar/Kitchen/Servant quarters stretch under the whole house.

Original feeding station in the stables
