Crazy God is a book that resulted from the work photographer Yvonne De Rosa did as a volunteer during the 90s in an old psychiatric hospital, whose name and location the author deliberately avoids mentioning.

Six years after the healthcare structure closed down, De Rosa returned among the rooms and the already decayingcorridors to document the void left by the patients. The result is a sensitive, touching study consisting of portraits of the objects abandoned by the patients and their wall writings in sentences that are often astonishingly lucid.

Born in Naples in 1975, Yvonne De Rosa was trained at the Central Saint Martins College for Artand Design in London. In 2006 she was awarded the ìWomen in Photography Internationalî prize and her works are partof the Arco Madrid collection. She lives in London where she works as a freelance photographer.

In December 2007, Crazy God won an award from the World Health Organization and was shown at the World Conference on Poverty and Health in Venice.

This is a very interesting book with some outstanding images. Its deffinately worth checking out. It includes some letters and such from patients (translated into English) and has a very interesting introduction.
