After a long day driving and exploring around Sheffield, we eventually rolled up to Dalton around 2am, went and found the engine house, and set up camp next to the magnificent pumping engines.

After about 4 hours sleep we crawled out of our sleeping bags, some faster than others, and through bleary eyes I attempted to set up the tripod I had broken in Megatron the evening before. Attempting to compensate for a wonky tripod before your first coffee and shit of the morning and after only 4 hours sleep is not easy. And to think this was all my idea :crazy

The first floor featuring our camping spot. The lighting was terrible - overcast, dark and damp outside.

The second floor was a bit brighter...

And the third floor featured the top of the huge pumps, very impressive!

Other features included this lovely stencilling around the walls, and a wheelie bin sized transformer box back downstairs.

Finally a couple of close-ups of the first floor.

It was a 500 mile round trip, and worth every mile. A fantastic weekend. Honorary mentions to Ghost, Fishbrain and Tweek for their part in making it a top trip, and massive thanks to everyone who helped with the intel for the weekend - you know who you are.

    Thanks for reading :)
