    Hello / Χαίρετε peps

A quick introduction and I shall be on my way....

I have always been interested in abandoned sites since I was knee high to a grass hopper. Born in Londons East End and a child of the 70's, I got to explore and play in and around the bomb sites and abandoned hospitals / buildings created by the blitz. I dare say that is where my interest started.

In school I studied photography and together I guess I became a solo Urban Explorer.
Over the years I have visited everything from abandoned schools, pools: hospitals ( see what I did there ), boat yards, factorys so on and so fourth.

I now live in Rhodes Greece, and you would not believe the amount of abandoned WW1 Italian residences etc on this island! Besides the historical places, there are dozens if not hundreds of abandoned shopping malls, hotel complexes and old farmsteads to choose from. On one walk along what we call the "windy" side of the island, I counted seven abandoned 1960's army bunkers, and that was only a 45 min stroll along the beach!

I look forward to sharing with you all and please excuse me if my reports are not as formal as they should be. As I wrote before, I have always been a solo explorer; that said I am a quick learner so perhaps they will be passable! <<< Is that even a word?

    Take care

    Welcome aboard

I was in Rhodes last year and have a couple of reports up from there. An abandoned villa built for Mussolini is high up in the hills near Profitis Ilias and levada-type irrigation canals with tunnels worth checking out at Epta Piges. On the drive up to Profitis Ilias there's a whole Italian-era village lying abandoned. It's obvious as you drive through.

Not reported yet is the old international airport at the south of the island. Parts of it now used by the military.. would be a very risky explore with severe consequences if caught I must warn. Many old WW2 airfields around in addition, one is on the coast road near to Lindhos driving from the north.
