Facit Mill is built of Accrington brick which was built to replace a mill on this site which was demolished in 1904. The mill was a former cotton mill employing 700 people in its heyday until its closure in the mid 1960s.

This mill is not in bad condition compared to others in the surrounding area. It appears to have been split in two at some point, second part took a fair bit of getting into and seems recently used. Also has electric so i urge caution if visiting.....one floor housed a perfectly good folk lift truck so i'd guess light storage/use by somebody.
