The airfield and nearby accommodation camp were build during World War Two as a satellite to the nearby Tain airfield (another visit for another day:rolleyes:)

    History taken from controltowers.co.uk (here)

    And now...on with the pictures!

The control tower itself - a well secured metal door prevented us from getting up any stairs.

A peculiar looking building that was empty apart form a burnt out fridge and car

The entrance to a well hidden, small and empty room

The biggest - and most intact building in the accommodation camp. It was the only one not overgrown with all sorts of plants but was filled with all sorts of ripped up clothes, a mattress and a complete picnic set...minus the food :confused

We then made our way into the Officers Mess and found these!

All in all this was a really good mooch, would recommend it but was a shame to see building in such disrepair.
