Visited with Mookie. He's got the history so I won't put it here.

I'd been here with UKMayhem WAY back in 2008 and done this as my debut explore, but given I was shooting on a rubbish Nikon Coolpix L3 none of my pics came out well at all so I didn't post anything. Since then I'd been meaning to get back here to do it simply because it's yards away from my house, but I'd been putting it off for ages because I'd already known that there was very little to see because the buildings are so tightly secured.

As for the visit, it was nice to finally get it ticked off the list. The place is full of sheep and their shit, and as I've already said all buildings bar one office room are secure. OK some doors are locked but rotten so you could easily boot one open but seriously I don't do that so I left it. Not really worth it anyway. I was a bit disappointed to still find the underground completely submerged still as according to a contractor from AMCO (maintains the site; he checks up once a week) it floods then is drained off yearly. Clearly not.

Calendar from 2002 - if it's not been used since around 1994 (Upper Heyford closed then) then what's this doing here? :confused
