Report - Grain Tower 19/9/10

    Built in 1855 to defend the entrance to the River Medway and the sea front of Sheerness.
    During the 2nd world war A directing tower and a light emplacement was added but the biggest addition was the barracks block.

    If your in the area and the tide is right its worth a look, luckly when we turned up the tide was out, so of we set across what is left of the causway to what i can only describe is a martello tower on steroids.
