Hello, my name is Alessio, 25, I'm from Luxembourg .

Been exploring for over 3 years now. My first spot was an abandoned fort in France, my girlfriend ( soon wife) told me that during her high school days, she went to the site to make a short movie, and that it was really big spot. I was so intrigued by it, that a rainy night I decided to go there with my best friend and check the place out. Being the first time on the road for such an exploration, I made a mistake reading the map, because the place is deep in the woods, and we ended up walking well off the site for several hours. Once we went back to the car, we were able to take another path that lead us right to it.

Way before this fort, as I usually go to Italy for my summer vacation, members of my family knew a place around the parts where we stayed. It was a village left behind at the top of a mountain in the 1960's because the ground was unstable for the people living in it and they were relocated further down the mountain. Craco was often used for movies and it's near Matera where most of Passion of the Christ was filmed.

Most of my explorations take place during the night, so I don't get caught or else. I usually go exploring with my best friend, as it is more safe than going alone.
During the night, there are less chances that you encounter other people and you got the whole place just for yourself. It gives me chills every time I enter an abandoned site during night, not because it is spooky, but because everything seems like it has been frozen in time, no noises, no light, just darkness and the flashlight.

Before going out to an exploration, I have a strict plan where to park the car and the path we need to follow in order to get where we want to go.
I don't mind walking for miles before arriving at a location, because most of the time, every effort is worth the memories.

I have gathered well over 400 spots in France, Belgium, UK, Germany and Italy. Locations that are still active and waiting for me to come and explore them.

Like I said before, my explorations take place during night time, so I don't really take many photos because of the lack of light (flashlight not bright enough), but here are some shots I still have.

    Old abandoned Sanatorium:

    Theather complex

    Abbaye de l'Étanche:

I hope I can learn lots more about all the locations that are still out there and I hope I can help and contribute to this community.

Hope to hear from you all very soon!
