HMS Bronington was a Ton class minesweeper of the Royal Navy, launched on 19 March 1953. This mahogany-hulled minesweeper was one of the last of the "wooden walls" (wooden-hulled naval vessels).

After being decommissioned from service, the ship was purchased in January 1989 by the Bronington Trust, a registered charity, whose patron Charles, Prince of Wales, commanded this vessel in 1976.

For some time, the ship was berthed in the Manchester ship Canal at Trafford Park Manchester. In 2002, she became part of the collection of the Warship Presentation Trust and moored at Birkenhead, Merseyside.
On 17 March 2016, she sank at her moorings.

I have visited the Bronington lots of times over the last 4 years

I had seen ages ago that the guns were on the quayside but there was always too much going on with the steelworks next door to visit, anyhow I noticed that the guns or Bofors were not on the quay anymore so I had to go see, I can only imagine that they have ended up in a museum or possibly on the back of a taliban pickup truck lol. Also the shark type sonar buoys on the aft end have also gone.

    she was always listing
