This is the quarry we had raced around in OT's car on our last trip. We decided to revisit it and leave the car above ground this time, taking in the finer details rather than watching the walls blur past at speed.

What is really great about this quarry is that you can really see how the stone blocks were worked and extracted. There is also much graffiti and other marks left by stone workers 100 years or so ago. The size of the passages and chambers are also very impressive...

While we were in here a farmer was driving his tractor about, dumping spuds. We had a couple of moments crouched behind blocks of stone praying he would not come our way... although we ended up close enough to see the bits of dinner between the fella's teeth, we remained undetected!
