    My first bit of UE.
A day trip after crimbo to work off some of that turkey.
Camera was a simple point and click, nothing special

    original report here

arriving at the larcs they appear to have been graffed up a little more

lx16's dash is fairy complete lx50's dash has been vandalised and ravaged by the weather

the larcs had a total of 6 engines, one for each propeller and one for each wheel. The turning of the wheels was achieved by increasing the speed of desired engine which would increase the hydraulic pressure and operate wheels

the red diesel tanks for these are located at the front of the larcs, there is over 200 gallons left in larc50 tho in larc 16 someone has either opened a drain valve or smashed the tank as there is diesel everywhere.

the stern of the larcs contains the 4 engines for the wheels and all the steering controls, here you can see the rear quadrants for the rudders

retractable searchlight found in front of lx16....complete,i'm realy surprised this hasn't been stolen along with all that diesel

wandering into the scrap yard under the bridge we were disapointed to see that the gun turret entrances had been blocked with large spools of wire "forklift needed to remove"
The AA gun is still there as is the v18 engine. The very large ship is unaccesable without some ropeage. The main door on this boat is covered with grease to stop people climbing up and getting in.We didn't see anyone there apart from a tramp living in one of the containers

    AA gun controls

just before we left we found 10-20 of these boxes from 1946....they appeared to be field windings for transformers

    thakns for looking

any adivse appreciated............yeh i know i need a decent camera
