I won't put an exact date to this report if you don't mind but it was done recently. Anyway we've had our eyes on this for a little while (Snappel & Myself) but the honour must also go to Saad since it was me and him that first did it about a 2 months ago just after it closed.

Originally opened in 1846 and designed by Alfred Watethouse. During World War Two it provided 18m meals distributed by mobile canteens on the streets of the city, it is easy to see just what a crucial role the YMCA has played.

It is not possible to put an exact figure on the number of people it has helped since 1846, but is estimated it to be in the millions.

The new YMCA has now moved to a brand new building on the other side of the city.

    The Explore:

Ok so this was epic. A pure mix of old and modern creating a maze of floors and rooms including a full basket-ball court / gym, climbing wall, canteen, common area, admin rooms and lots more. I'll try and give you an overall flavour with the pics but there are too many to show here. Maybe Snappel will post some of his also :thumb

Before you go running off to do it, the new owners are already gutting it and security is tight as a rats arse.

    Note to owners / non-explorers:

Please note that no forced entry was made here, nothing was moved, taken or touched and we exited the way we came in leaving the whole place exactly as it was found.
