    Finally I have a 28DL FIRST!

I bring you London Road Deep shelter!

One of the small entrances is open (just) and so i went for it.

    A Western escape route
B Main entrance. This was concrete lined up to the blast wall, the only concrete lining in the whole shelter
    C Eastern escape route
D Blast wall built of brick
    E Shelter wardens office
    F Canteen
    G First aid post
    H Toilets
    J Ventilation / rescue shafts
    K Emergency generator room

The shelter is in good overall condition, fairly dry and not that trashed. All the fitted toilets remain, the partitions rotted. All bunks gone although found a pile of them. Emergency exits well sealed, up 5 15ft ladders.

Other exits well filled, good blast wall at main like most others. Sinks and toilets still in, all the signs of the areas to help u find your bunk. Very big bunker this, uniform in size and the air was ok.

Really glad to get a 28DL first!

    Some pics!:
    Ladies Lav sign

    Ladies Toilets, wooden partitions rotted

    Rules Poster:

Gents Lav sign, one had a store at the back of it for bunk beds.

Main Entrance backfill, behind is a large blast wall you can go either way round, then through to wardens office.

    Old bed mattress

Shelter wardens office and hatch area, electrics control point too

Sings to direct u to your bed

    Advert to start childcare buisness

Escape ladders, 2 in the complext, both 5 times 15ft. Little landing to the side of each ladder, well filled at top

1943, 10 days in the place! Roll on D-day!

    Quite big, uniform though.

Main entrance blast wall, exit to right.

    Bless, think of everything eh!

    3 way junction

I have a few more, very humid in there so fighting steamed up lenses. Overall a top explore, first time photos from inside so im chuffed to bits!
