Since it's recent closure I have wandered onto the site several times and haven't got very far before being pinged by the newly installed spyball cameras.
After demolition begins things become easier, but sadly these demo boys don't hang around and seem to take great joy in smashing everything breakable.

HISTORY: The Hospital is named after Admiral 1st Viscount Horatio Nelson (1758-1805) who lived in Merton. The Hospital wards were named after Nelson's battles, ships and captains such as Trafalgar, Copenhagen, Victory, Vanguard,Hardy and Collingwood. On Trafalgar Day (21st October) the signal "England expects that every man will do his duty" is flown from the Hospital flag pole.
There used to be a bust of Nelson on a pedestal at the front of the Hospital entrance, but it was stolen in 1979.
