Hi all, I'm new around these parts.

I've lived my whole life in Hampshire, but I'm currently a student in Bath. I've always had an obsession with decaying places, I find the mix of beauty and melancholy really appealing. A few days back I went to visit some friends in Glasgow and we ended up exploring this enormous scaffolding up the side of a block of flats. Given that I'm normally afraid of heights and incredibly safety conscious, I was surprised when I absolutely loved every second of it. I've not got anything more than a few very poor iphone photos to prove it, but it has kickstarted an obsession and I can't get the thought of urban exploration out of my head - I've got to try it "properly".

Currently back in Hampshire for Easter, I've been researching local places to try and visit, and I was amazed to discover that Pyestock, an enormous R&D facility for gas turbines, was literally a couple of miles away from me my whole life without me knowing. Sadly it seems that it's all but been demolished now, but that gives you an idea as to the sort of place I want to see. I love old cold war aesthetics/engineering, and I'd love the opportunity to visit/photograph somewhere like that in detail. So yeah, industrial/engineering would definitely be the sort of place I want to go. If anyone could help steering me in roughly the right direction that would be awesome.

Also there's a link to an FAQ section that doesn't seem to exist - does anyone know where I can find that?
