2004: New pilot boats are fully storm protected

This Flemish and Dutch Project was supposed to build two of these brand new types.
The 75 million Euros mostly came from the Flemings for building these giant fifty meters long and twenty meters wide boats with under every casco body a kind of submarine. The new vessel is a revolutionary product of the German shipbuilder Abeking & Rasmussen. The boat has the name Swath (Small Water-plane Area Twin Hull) and can resist up to wind force 10 and waves up to 5 meters.</p>

    So what happened next?
The project got started and a giant building was build for building these ships. One ship was already in process and then a lot of money disappeared. Nobody knows where it has gone to. The company didn’t have enough money to buy a machine motor so the boat never left the shipyard. This project is one big joke. Millions of Euros from Belgian tax money has been spend for nothing more than a rusty boat with no motor.

    This is so typical Belgian...Again!
