Hi folks, lovely old farmhouse down the Gower. The place had literally hundreds of picture frames. The owner definitely liked knitting and sewing. Seemed they kept any old bit of paper or receipt as the drawers were full of them, some even dating back to 1900!

What / where is Gower? The name seems far too vague.

It's a small region of South Wales. How is that far too vague?

Gower is in between Swansea and Llanelli.

Giving a region is far too vague, it does not allow people who may want to visit a place much to go on to locate somewhere, it's like saying "South Wales" or something like that - there is a lot of "south Wales" to go on.

Anyhow, the full location has now been provided by another member, so I have edited accordingly.

I can see why south wales would be too vague. Thanks for the title fix tho. :)

He didn't put South Wales though. Plenty of people put counties in the title. Just look at the similar threads below...

Wow, so I know this is an old post but thought maybe some would like what I dug up about this old farmhouse. Looks like John and Gladys Mary Tucker lived there. Gladys died 25th January, 2007. A Tucker left a will in 1937 but since I am too cheap to pay for Ancestry I don't know the contents of said will but it is associated with Old Henllys. Apparently the old farmhouse and the land is pretty infamous for its smuggling history.

Very interesting! I don't UrbEx anymore, but this was up there amongst my favourites, so many little nuggets of history.

Yea, I've never really got serious into the whole urbex, more of a dabbler, but I have always loved the abandoned domiciles. Now that there is so much old stuff online we can sometimes find a little bit of history for the places that are explored. It makes it even better I think.
