Visited with The Kwan and The Missus :p:

Looking for something to do on the Saturday afternoon and thinking mines, I spoke to The Kwan and suggested a few leads that I've had on a back burner.

"No can do" was the reply that I got, "I'm having a day out with the girls at the Rally Stages"

"Okay, mate. When do you fancy doing something?"

"Later on that night. Top of Portland House?"

    "Yes, mate! Very yes!"

So off I went to New Brighton, off to see the Rally stages. Walking round with a stinking hangover, I settled in to some strategic spots and set up.

Using my 55mm meant having to frame, compose and set up my shots before the car came into view. Manual set up with my lens ain't easy. I thought my shot were alright, but was pondering what I could do to take some interesting, unique shots. 400mm.

With 40% of my battery left, 400+ shots taken and two hours left until I met The Kwan, I decided to get some noms.

You've no doubt seen the videos great videos that the Kwan has produced, if not they're here . Watching the sunset, I took the odd shot here and there but I was waiting until darkness fell.

Once the sun hit the horizon, darkness fell rapidly. And I loved it! Chilling out, sitting out on a great rooftop, eating random Indian and Chinese snack food and drinking beer. Bliss!

We were up there for good three hours in total, after about 2 hours a couple of gentlemen came on the roof. After finding out that everything was above board they told us one of their mums lives in the flat below. She'd seen us around the roof and call over for them to check what's going on

I could have stayed up there for a lot longer than we did, but life and sleep called. Watch this space for more!
