Not sure if this is report-worthy but there are some nice views and it won't be around much longer so what the hey:

This water tower served a limestone quarry operated by Blue Circle Cement Works. Operations on the site stopped in the 90s leaving a brownfield site which is due to be redeveloped into > 1,500 homes for a new community.

Engineering and remodelling work are proposed to start in June 2012 and fences on the access roads have gone up in the last week.

Access to the tower is easy but one should be cautious of trip hazards, pits and holes.

A short climb to the top and yields unique views of Plymouth and Plymstock and a nice vantage point of other tall things in the city ;)
