Firstly, my apologies for no pictures, this was before camera phones and I was working.
Next to the Bush Theatre, (now called O2 academy Shepherds Bush to give it its correct title) is a large rectangular brick building that was,at one time a bingo hall. Inside this vast building , there are also the remains of an ancient cinema auditorium. We were working on an installation as a company had bought the rights to one of the larger rooms as a venue for private functions. We needed access to the roof space and to get there involved going up defunct escalators, (I saw an old copy of The Sun dated 1975) and through this decaying cinema. There were light fixtures there that would have dated back to the Sixties at least and the whole place had this air of melancholy desolation.
I think the entire building is under some sort of preservation order so presumably still intact.
I wonder if access is possible in such a busy area?
