    Sutton Castings - Macclesfield

Sutton castings on the corner of Roe Street and Churchill Way in Macclesfield was founded in Feb 1981.
They specialised in the manufacture of aluminium components, patterns, jigs, castings and foundry work until
closure of the business in December 2008.

Visited on two occasions , first with jbl bass & second time with Tom Sherman & Noodlethesis
(whom we left to negotiate the razor wire on his own) whilst I took some externals :D

The building is pending major re-development, by Cheshire building society utilising the empty space in front of
the main warehouse with a modern glass frontage.

The building as it is today, looking a little run down to say the least

at the back of the building sits this annexe complete with hopper and chimnney

a nod to the past use of the building

followed by a glimpse of the future ?

The proposed modern glass frontage offset by the classic red brick main structure

Inside, the building has been paid a visit by the metal Fairy

although they did miss this one piece of cast metal

One of the tanks used for cooling the metals after the casting process

Upstairs we were greeting with this phlalic based graffiti

the top warehouse, reminiscent of Mayfield storage depot

of course, no derp report is complete without the obligatory chair shot (well sofa ) :D

Not the best, but not the worst...Thanks for looking :thumb
