Hilden Mill, which dates back to the 18th Century, was used for linen production and closed in February 2006. i took over 100 photographs when I was here.

The mill closed a good 15+ years ago, and time has not been kind to it. It is now a bashed, burned, shell of a complex but despite all the damage over the years it's sheer enormous size is seriously impressive...
Hi! Joined the site a while ago, but today was my first foray into Urbexing. My fiancée and I decided, after looking online and checking out a few YouTube videos, to try Hilden Mill.
It has been sold for redevelopment, so we thought we had better get on it while we still had a chance!

This place needs no introduction, its been covered many many times on here and if you search Hilden or Barbour threads you'll find reports from over the years which will help to illustrate the decay that has occurred both naturally and at the hands of vandals.

I found this place from a youtube video and found it very easy to get into. From the start you will be led into one main building which from there you can explore other parts of this site. some of the buildings do have asbestos warning signs though we didnt go in to them. There is a security hut...

In 1784 John Barbour, who hailed from Scotland, established a linen thread works in Lisburn.
At the same time his son, William, bought a derelict bleach green at Hilden and set up business.
Later, the thread works were transferred to Hilden and as early as 1817 it was employing 122...
