This royal station was build in 1873 by Leopold II. It borders on the Royal Estate of Laken, and served as station for the royal family. Now it is no longer in use, but the facade is still maintained by the SNCB. The maintenance of the interior is done by the palace you can see on the pictures how good they preserve it. Leopold also wanted an electric train connection with a private station under the Castle of Laken. Those plans have been signed but never implemented.
