Visited with Bubblehead and Tunnel lover. An uneventful drive down was replaced with the pitstop from hell at Martlesham heath Tesco. As Bubblehead sustained an injury getting out of my car and i was about to enter into a world of issue's with my sunglasses. The drive to Orford was uneventful.
The guided tour of the site was able to answer some of the big questions about the A.W.R.E buildings. That the pagoda roofs were designed to collaspe in the event of an accident in the test cell.just for the record the site operated from 1953 to 1971 and the six test labs were used for environmental testing of atomic weapons.Tests under taken werr vibration, extremes of temperature, shocks and G-forces.
