I've struggled to find much in terms of history for this building other than it was closed in 2015. Its assumed it was built around the same time as the Waverly railway line up to Edinburgh in 1849 as its bang opposite the train station. It was a 15 bedroom hotel and a 50 seater restaurant.
Sorry for very little information, best I can gather, although it can still be found on some hotel booking sites despite being closed for 6 years.
The explore was a quick one as I wasn't expecting to get in, its been sealed off the whole time I've lived in Gala and just noticed a way in when walkingbut there are YouTube videos which shows the decline between that individuals explore and mine.
Nabbed a few snaps, hope you enjoy! :)

I found planning permission and approval for demolition and a drive thru at this location but when I try to open the attached planning documents there is an error, so best I can offer is this newspaper report https://www.bordertelegraph.com/news/19531561.galashiels-starbucks-shop-drive-thru-plans-submitted/

if you are sufficiently interested visit http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/g/galashiels/index.shtml and scroll down to the 1859 map which shows the hotel
Thank you, that's a great help! :)
