Well what a place....

The facade is breathtaking, with mosaics of the armarda, tilework, towers, chimney stacks, balconys, stone brick iron and stained glass...

Inside is astonishingly well prserved, especially as the buildings last use was a nightclub. The dress circle, boxes and stage reamin intact, as does almost all of the nautical themed plasterwork. It must have looked incredible in its day!

Up from the circle to the cheapo seats right at the top, all still in place, and then up again to the projection room and attic, where a bit of rummaging revealed old hand bills and posters from 50's 60's and 70's shows. The cellar was also rammed with various junk, as well as stock from the nightclub, showing all the signs of a sudden closure. Some of the rooms at the back also contained epicness. There was a stunning glass fronted chest of drawers, prob out of a shop which I would give my left arm for, as well as piles of cine projectors.

This place NEEDS saving. It is a stunning building both inside and out, and at the moment is in good dry condition. While I was photographing the outside almost everyone who drove or walked past was craining their neck to get a good look at it, showing it must be a much loved building...
