As a noob I would like a little advice, am I better off getting permission to enter an abandoned place or just go in take my pics and leave?

I fully intend on exploring, it's just some places are boarded up

So find a way in or keep checking on them until you do, the likelihood of being allowed a permission visit is pretty slim so exhausting all other options first is generally the way to go. Welcome to Urban Exploration!

Keep checking the places with boards. One days the local scrotes or pikeys will have busted a way in.
