So I heard an inkling about this place from a friend. Then done a bit of research and found out it was right near I am living. So decided to do a bit of research on it and found out it has been placed on the Victorian Society top 10 buildings at risk list. If you would like to view the page about the chapel click here. So on with the report anyway.

Small bit of history about the chapel:

"Its walls shrouded by ivy, a mortuary chapel looms high over a Salford cemetery. Closed and effectively abandoned in the 1980s, the Grade II chapel is listed because of its architectural importance and rarity, its significance for local people and the landscape.

Built in 1903 by Sharpe & Foster, the building has many unique features. Designed in Perpendicular Gothic, it also shows the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement, and Art Nouveau in its stained glass windows. "

Decided to bring the misses along on the trip :D. Needs to say she was bored after 5 minutes and waited outside for me to finish :coat.

There were a few other people around the chapel due it being publiscised on websites like ITV News and Yahoo! News. So getting in un-noticed was quite devious. But I finally did it anyway and I have to say, there isn't much left of this place. No wonder it's on the Victorian Society top 10 list.

Sorry about the quality of the pictures. I didn't take my Finepix just took a point and shoot as I didn't really think it was going to be a big explore.

The Tudor house just at the entrance of the cemetery. (Misses thinks there is a ghost in the top right window :crazy)

Inside view of the chapel, as you can see all of it is absolutely covered in pigeon feathers and pigeon poo!

This is the only decoration left inside the chapel. Besides the Victorian glass stained windows that is.

This is what remains of the upper floors leading to the clock. Sad to see it, it would of been a nice photo opportunity up there.
