Report - Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool, March 2016 - April 2016

photographs 4 9 15 & 16 were took during may 2016,
visited with @ACID- REFLUX , @Coolboyslim & solo

Founded in 1910 by the Board of Poor Law Guardians,
opened in 1914 as a specialist childrens hospital, nurses block opened in 1924.
Part of the hospital was used during the 1st & 2nd world wars, to care for injured soldiers.
Penicillin was first trialed here in 1944 to save a sick child with pheumonia,
a neonatal unit opened in the 1950s to care for sick babies.
Ronald Mc Donalds house opened in 1993 as a home & away accommodation for sick children.
The original hospital closed in October 2015,
will be demod in 2016, some new parts & Ronald Mc Donalds House will remain.
All services were transfered to a new £227 million hospital, across the road.

alot of the original buildings have nice features,
but it's 92% stripped now awaiting demo, (except piles of chairs, tables & filling cabinets) even the operating theatres are gone.
