Not sure if anyone else has seen this but I’ve been trawling through google maps and saw this building just off the bank of the Thames (opposite side of the Airport, in fact it’s almost directly opposite the air port, just around the corner from the Thames Barrier Information Centre). There seems to be ivy or some sort of vine plant growing all over it and no or very little vehicular activity around this particular building so I’m wondering if anyone else knew of it? Or weather it’s empty or not?

Only one way to find out for sure and that's pay it a visit. Things change and Google Maps aren't always up to date, Streetview is often different too.

A quick search shows the vegetation removed (probably last year) and a link to this website :thumb https://www.arthub.org.uk/

Thanks. I’m working on going up that way in the next week to two so hopefully I’ll have an update

I tried streetview yesterday and couldn't get on the street, it dropped me inside the Climbing wall next door
Today I've hit the street.
The exterior has changed from Heras in my previous picture to hoarding in this link but still only shower the Comms tower end.

It's 3 buildings end to end so it's unlikely all of it is occupied.

one is occupied by some art thing. Hoarding is only on that side, but the other side where the car park to Thames barrier is, for some reason there is none.

Hmmm looks interesting. Doesn’t seem to be any secca, no outside cameras AND the lower level is boarded up

At the very LEAST it seems to be PART unoccupied according to business’ registered in the same road. Perhaps an art gallery thing and that’s about it but a recent pic showed the lower level as boarded up

If Ferdinand Magellan had just sat at home looking at the 1519 equivalent of Google Maps and the internet he would not have been the first person to circumnavigate the globe, someone else would have got there first while he sat procrastinating over his maps ;)

Hahahah this is very true. Well, I’ve had a look at more recent stuff and it seems to be worth a gander at least so . I should be up that way or there abouts in the next week or so so I’m going to swing by and actually LOOK at it lol. Imagine 1519 google maps....today’s isn’t even that great
