Report - Arundel Auxiliary Unit Hideout SUSSEX 10-11-07

Auxiliary Units were formed in WW2 to act as a 'British Resistance' if the country was invaded and occupied.

Only took me an hour to find this one, either I’m getting better at this or this one was easier to find.:D
I think this was one that was 'destroyed' by the Royal Engineers at the end of the war, both the entrances were back filled but due to a collapse in the main chamber I could still get access.

A farmer had dumped some fertiliser bags down there.

Filled in escape entrance, I lead on the ground and stuck my head in the hole, switched on the torch to find a Badger looking back at me.

Wire in the air vents, this was done to stop grenades from being dropped down.
