Babies Castle was built by Barnado's in 1886 as the largest home for orphaned babies and young children. It closed in 1965.
It was subsequently reopened as a nursing home and the name changed to Hawkhurst Castle. It closed again in the 1990's.

bedgebury school most everyone knows the history of :)

Both sites sit about 5 miles apart so thought a joint post would do on them :)

Both trips done with stealth on here and a few other people :)

I remember meeting Stealth and co (you maybe!) last year when we got turfed out of Lillesden by that brave/foolish groundsman....
