Had a mooch in some woods yesterday and found a small culvert of Baguley brook for my first underground experience.
The brook has been re-directed around the motorway with this brick construction, and downstream there's a concrete pipe culvert for maybe 50m.
Upstream there is a much longer culvert for maybe 0.5km but the access is fenced and padlocked, and it's likely to be all concrete pipe again anyway.
This one you can walk right in...
Looking back towards the light
In near total darkness save for the Lenser
Until the very pikey outfall...
Further downstream theres a shopping trolley which looks like Kwik Save to me (so it shows how long it's been there!)
The brook heads under the railway which is far too small for a general
So i decided to turn around and have a little fall instead :-(
Also found a very strange sewer/drain pipe just chilling out between some odd brick construction, that had access manholes running in parallel to the brook
