The Ballingham tunnel(A couple of miles south of Holme Lacy in Herefordshire) is 1208 yards long. It was opened in 1855 on the GWR line linking Gloucester and Hereford, and served for over 100 years, finally closing in 1964. Visited with Victor Cyborg. We didn't carry on through to the south portal as it was overgrown.

Yes it is a good one, Needs a more thorough report from a more experienced member. Easy access 150 yds from the road where you can park,Quite dry inside for the most part.. All that work, 110 years of use then..... Nothing- Silence.... Not even Bats.
