Bit of history (well covered in previous reports):
Battersea Power Station is a decommissioned coal-fired power station located on the south bank of the River Thames, in Battersea, an inner-city district of South West London.The station is the largest brick building in Europe and is notable for its original, lavish Art Deco interior fittings and decor. It comprises two individual power stations, built in two stages in the form of a single building. Battersea A Power Station was built in the 1930s, with Battersea B Power Station to its east in the 1950s. The two stations were built to an identical design, providing the well known four-chimney layout. The station ceased generating electricity in 1983, but over the past 50 years it has become one of the best known landmarks in London and is Grade II listed.
Control Room A
I've always wanted to see this amazing London landmark. And I was very, very excited, when I got the opportunity to visit this place with Kevin
First we planned to check out Control Room A, apparently more difficult to get in. Anyway after climbing to get to the certain level I found myself facing the wall.. And now when I'm thinking that it wasn't actually that tall, maybe 8-10m.. But then it made me feel like a little girl standing on the bottom of this impossible to climb monster. And I must admit that I was already exhausted by this time, after climbing. Anyway after some problems with a technique I finally found myself on the top of the building and it felt amazing Then when we got to the Control Room I realised how worthy it was..

Control Room B
This time I was much more relaxed, knowing that there won't be much climbing involved Can't really say which Control Room I like more.. I loved A - always been a fan of Monty Python "Find the Fish" sketch - so surrealistic. But then B - more modern, with its cold atmosphere, glowing white light reminds me of enigmatic "A Space Odyssey" . Can't really choose...
