Berkyn Manor was originally owned by John Berkyn, the house has had many owners including the poet John Milton who lived here with his father in the mid 1600's

The manor was rebuilt by Edward Tyrell; the Remembrancer of the city of London in 1848.

Earnest Rayner was the last owner from 1945 up to his death in 1987 aged 96.

The house is a treasure trove and a photographers and explorers paradise, but sadly I can't see the interior of the building lasting very much longer.

There have been major collapses, some whole rooms have completely gone, some of the middle floor is only accessable by ladder and the 3rd floor is just not doabale at all

The house is sometimes reffered to as "Bull Manor" due to the security arrangements
