Done to death but here’s my report anyway!
Bit of history,
Berkyn Manor has been derelict since the late 1980`s and still has remains of the last owners belongings littered around the house.
The Rayner family has been farming in the Colnbrook area since the reign of Elizabeth I. In 1945, the family purchased Berkyn Manor Farm & Manor House in Horton, together with 60 acres of land (the site of Berkyn Manor was also the home to the famous poet, Milton, and his parents from 1632 to 1638). In 1954, J Rayner & Sons Ltd was founded from the original farming partnership.
This place has been around since the 1600s and is a real time warp inside. The last resident Ernest Rayner (former County Councillor) died aged 96 in 1987.

After reading all the other reports on here I thought this may be a no go, but we didn’t see or hear anyone else and made it in pretty easily, This place has decayed so much more than the last lot of pics I have seen on here, some parts completely inaccessible and had to climb to get up to the library but it was definitely worth it.

was here a few months back, what an absolute mess it has become, I doubt it will be long before it completely falls in on itself.

It’s so bad isn’t it, I don’t think it’ll be standing this time next year, the whole inside is so precarious, I couldn’t believe how much it’s gone downhill since the last report done on it

Very nice don't know why I've never tried this place, might be worth a shot asap

Shame it's deteriorated so much over the last few years. Nice one for getting in, some nice photos there :thumb
Thank you!! Don’t think it’ll be accessible much longer to be honest, bit of a death trap, still found it beautiful though, do like a bit of natural decay

You're welcome :) It really does look like it, surprised the owner hasn't done more to secure it. I agree, quite like the library as well.

The library was my favourite part of the place, I really don’t know how the floor is still holding all that weight as most of it has gone in the middle of the room. It’s a shame it’s just been left to rot, would once have been a very grand building

Another one I havent made it to yet but really want to.
It is a complete state but everyone is comparing it to what it was, there is still so much to see as your report shows so pretty excellent report in my book!

Went back again last night and saw so much more we missed the first time round, I love it there I think it’s absolutely beautiful, it’s a shame that the third floor and other half of the house are completely inaccessible due to no staircase anymore, definitely go check it out, it’s so worth it :thumb
