Billings hospital dates back into the 1700's with records of medical care on the site. The hospital most of its final years specialising as a maternity branch, in 2004 the hospital began to close in stages eventually leading to demolition work commencing in 2007. Very little of the site now remains with a new housing development covering a majority of the site. This small building still remains at the far end of what was the hospital. It was used by the '5 Borough Trust' as a Psychiatric therapy centre and operated until the hospitals closure.
