I had heard about this place from a friend, and some research led me to an old post on this forum, dated January 2013. Thanks to Voibmi, my interest was piqued, and I set out with 2 hardy friends to see if this place still existed. MoscowCow was one of the people I went with.

The line had fairly good passenger usage until the early 1880's, when it hit a decline, leading it to be used for mostly freight trains. It was renamed to Blowers Green in 1921, from Dudley Southside and Netherton. It finally closed in in 1962, although trains passed through the station until 1964, and was still used as an emergency escape point until 1965.

At first, I only expected to find some remnants of the railway, but as we skirted around the old station to get down to the rail lines, I noticed one of the back windows was actually open about a foot and a half, just enough to get in. Once inside, I saw the small gap had actually been pried open, and would have required some force, as fairly thick metal panels covered the back windows. Inside however seemed fairly unused, very little rubbish, somewhat unexpected. I'm just guessing as to the layout of the building in the following pictures, and we didn't stay here for long, especially with the proximity to the road/path outside.

The roof here doesn't look too bad, and from the outside there are only a few loose roof shingles

Me and the previously mentioned hardy friend debated if this was actually the main entrance, as the door seemed a little more durable, but it would have lead to the side of the building, and trees, rather than the previous one, which lead to path/road outside. I am still unsure of which was the main entrance though.

The other side of the building was in worse condition, with some of the roof coming down.

Quite a lot of rubble here.

Some more collapsed areas, looks like there was a hatch to access the underside of the roof/attic?
There wasn't much in here, so we continued on to the rail tracks.

Coming down from the station on the road, this was the clearest section of rail we saw, leading away from the tunnel.

Heading towards the tunnel, getting more overgrown.

It got dark surprisingly fast. Anyway, on this side, there is no gate, despite being the easier side to access?
It looks like there may have been a gate once, as on the left side, there is a single lonely steel hinge post.

As mentioned, there was a post about this tunnel in January 2013, and the trolley in one of their pictures is still here today...

A decent length of the rail is missing, stolen? I imagine they are worth something, made from some kind of high quality steel alloy, but would have been quite the effort to take this.

The second set of rails were there for the whole tunnel.

Out of the other side. Its quite overgrown out here, quite a few saplings on the center/right side, the gates were open, and have been for a long time, the right one seems to have become one with the ground and overgrowth :/

On the way to this Rail track, there was another abandoned (possibly factory) building, which I'll probably cover in a different post.

It's a datum plate. Datum plates are fixed to structures (platforms, tunnel walls, bridges and overhead line masts, etc.) located near the track. The details on the plate specify the relative position of the track, so that it can be monitored for movement. If the track or substructure is to be disturbed in any way, the datum plate tells the P-Way staff exactly where it should be reinstated. I was told that work was done in a station a while back somewhere down South and the contractors didn't pay attention to the datum plates. When the first train came through after the work was completed it took out the whole platform edge!

Your picture tells us:
Top left C.P.N° is the Chainage Point Number, in this case 20 chains from whatever the start point is on the line. The letter "U" (on a red background) denotes that the information on the plate relates to the Up line ("DN" for the Down line). "Offset" is the horizontal distance from the plate to the running edge ("R.E.") of the nearest rail of the relevant track, in this case we don't know as a couple of numbers are missing and the remainders may have been moved. The bottom spaces would have "CANT" above and "MM" on the right. This indicates if the track is canted and what measurement (one rail higher than the other ie. on curves). The top of the movable slider block is normally set at the level of the nearest rail. It's missing here but you can see the white square where it has been. If it's necessary to fix the datum plate at a higher level than the track, the number above the slider block indicates the difference in height between the rail head and the slider block (300 mm in this case).

A red slider block means that the data on the plate refers to the actual position of the track at the time when the datum plate was installed. A green block denotes a track design position, to which the track should be returned in the event of it moving out of alignment.

That was very informative, thanks :)
I Thought it was rail related, so I was somewhat right. I have to say, I didn't expect it to be that important and detailed, if I find any more rail-ways in the future, I'll be sure to keep an eye out to see if I can decipher them a little better :)

Thats the one, Slightly up the road from there theres a derelict house too. Or at least there was.

Yeah, that is the one. The way we got there was after a little research, I found the location of the station on the internet, got to it, and went down onto the rails via the side of the station. I didn't expect it to be accessible though, because I looked at it on Google maps street view the day before we left, and it was bricked up.

I had a poke around in the station a couple of years ago. Although its pretty far gone I maybe wish I'd had more of dig around. The last picture with the Fence was near the Dudley freightliner terminal which closed around 1990.
