Visited with Dave, Joe and Greg. We have had our eye on this place for a few years. Most attempts have been frustrating as holes seem to appear and disappear regularly but alas it was always secure when we checked! This time however we got lucky.
The company formally made industrial magnets. The kind of thing you see on the ends of cranes in scrapyards. They got bought out in 2001 and it appears this site was out of use by 2004 with everything going to another factory in Cardiff. The building is a mish mash of ages and styles but the main part is a massive 'cathedral of industry' type affair probably built in the late 50s or early 60s? There were offices and a canteen but all modernized in the 80s and pretty bland. There were however a fine array of machine tools and presses on show, very clean and unmolested too!
