Well... what a night.
I've wanted to see the Odeon for a few years now, and after getting the nod that it was open again, we made it the top target for the weekend...
The bradford odeon is a prime exampole of why I like exploring cinemas. The tripling of the 60's boxed in and hid the features that we love to see, and hunting them out behind walls and plasterboard is great fun. You could be excused if you thought there was none of ther former grandure left at all, but if you poke your head through enough holes it's plain to see that most of it is still there. The odeon is pretty much a 60's building inside a 30's building.
Plenty of walking on surfaces that were never designed to be walked on. Climbing, crawling through black filth and death defying climbs that led to nowhere were the order of the evening!
It will be a crying shame if the council win their fight to see the odeon demolished.
Ladies powder room, note the worktop with no sinks
