HISTORY (FROM AARON'S BLOG):

Bramham House was built in 1806 by the vicar of Bramham, Rev. Robert Bownas. In 1814 the house was sold and presented to the buyer’s son as a wedding gift. From 1856 to 1947, Bramham House had numerous owners until the West Riding County Council Children’s Department purchased the building, where it was made into an orphanage. Bramham House became a family group home to accommodate neglected and homeless children. The home also accommodated children from broken homes, family problems and those who had failed to respond to treatment for non school attendance within the local community. The house was home to up to 37 children at one time, until it closed in the early 1980’s due to the children moving to a new home in Wetherby.

OUR EXPLORATION:

My friend Aaron and I hopped in my car and took the 150 mile trip down towards Leeds, we tried High Royds asylum but security stopped that one before it even got going!

We tried a couple of other places too with very little luck, anyways... Thanks to @Buffalo and her reports, we were able to find a few locations pretty nearby to where we were so that we could get something without it being a wasted trip!

We walked down towards the orphanage and were just about to set up to record our intro video and guess what... A security van pulls up :( - Anyways, the guy got out of the van and asked what we were up to, he said to just leave when we're finished and off he went! :thumb - Shoutout to that guy!

VIDEO REPORT:

Anyways, on with the report...

The first room that we came across was this boiler room (correct me if I'm wrong) - Nothing too much to see in here, it was a very small room with the two machines in here, this took us through towards the basement of the building.

This was the very eerie corridor in the basement of the orphanage, it was at this point that we heard a rather loud, unsettling bang from right above our heads...

There wasn't much in the basement, just these large rooms which I'm guessing were community rooms/possibly rooms to eat or relax in...

After covering the small basement, we decided that we would head upstairs towards the ground floor, pretty hesitantly (not going to lie) - after hearing the loud bang above us...

The ground floor had some interesting rooms, again, mostly trashed but it was still clear to see where the kids would've ran around and spent time in the house...

Not quite sure what the inspiration was for this graffiti but hey ho, I'm not a graffiti artist!

The grand stairs were amazing, I loved the deteriorated look in here, it still looks grand even with it being in such a bad condition...

The rooms on this floor were very bare and not much was to be seen, the building has clearly been slowly deteriorating since closing in the 80s!

We went up one more flight of stairs to the first floor which was as high as we were going due to time restrictions and how dangerous the floors were becoming...

We finished up and headed back outside to get our last few shots, we even discovered a child's onesie/baby grow type of thing, this was pretty creepy!

And that's where we leave the place, thanks very much for reading.

Don't forget to check out the video for a more in-depth look at the place and also Aaron's blog post.

Nice report there, you got some good pics of that place :thumb

Just a heads up for future reports though - avoid posting the exact date you were there for obvious reasons

Oh trust me, the reunion video will happen ;)

As for the masks, we used them in the basement where it was needed but as we went up the building they became less necessary as it was more ventilated than we initially thought. Thanks for watching though :thumb
