On my first report: This is a vast beer brewery in Berlin, located near the station Schöneweide 12439. After exiting the tube, it is a short four minute walk, keep the river to the left and enter the brewery to your right.
We heard the brewery is in danger of demolition - it is a truly exciting site!!
The Brewery survived for 122 years, closing in 1994. It is now a very large, easy to access. I gave 2 out of 10 for easy access through a small ramp over a low window.
You are greeted with the main ex-office room from where you can access the rest of the buildings.
Amidst the sales projections, check lists, beer prices, a file with the Tax Forms:
From this room you walk into the open centre from where there are another 12 large buildings scattered around, we aimed for the computer, grid and electricity housing:
electrical and board cabinets
inside cabinet detail
Further buildings to the left
The brewery area is a must do. There are two tunnelled rooms leaving to the left from these towards the back.
These take you across the whole of the factory in pich black. They appeared to be the less accessed sites but we were unable to complete these. Not sure there is an exit.
The main mixing room is accessible through the lower levels, with a stair case, easy to miss at the entrance of this room.
We left the warehouses behind (got suddenly crowded with some photographers, sex tourists, other couple of explorers - their sounds were soon gone elsewhere)
towards the main tower
with its thousands of beer mats scattered everywhere
This is a picture to say thank you to the previous urbex explorers reports on this site:
thanks to which we knew it was actually possible to climb the stairs!
END
