Hi Chaps,

There has been a recent collapse of a tunnel roof underneath the MoD United Services Rugby Ground in Brompton, Kent. There are a huge network of tunnels that were never properly recorded. Anyone interested?

I know a fair bit about these reported tunnels. They were dug during WW1 by Royal Engineers before travelling to the front. They are hewn out and propped up by wooden joists. I didn't have a camera when we went went in but they were extensive and very, very unstable. We could hear rock falls whilst we were in there. There is an area of about 10 acres with a huge maze of these old tunnels under that area, they are beginning to collapse now.
