The Brunswick Tunnel was abandoned in 1862, then housed an air raid shelter during WW2. I've lived near this for 20 years and only just become aware of it! I took photos by lamplight and there's not much left of the air raid shelter but I had fun anyway!

Thanks for sharing your 1st post. And welcome to 28DL. Its surprising whats on our door step. All I would say is some more history would be welcome, and perhaps a little edit to your photos to get rid of the white bits. :thumb

Does it still smell of sewage when you get to the air raid shelter bit ? think there must be a burst pipe somewhere :/

It didn't smell of sewage but it was incredibly muddy and swampy with some red tinged standing water in areas.
