Georgie and Kevsy21: Xan thanks you for bringing this to his attention.

The culvert carries Knowsley Brook through the delightful pit of Kirkby. The River Alt runs from Huyton through Croxteth Park before being joining the culvert in Kirkby near the M57. The river then runs through Aintree before discharging into the Mersey Estuary in Hightown, Sefton. The culvert itself runs directly through Kirkby industrial estate and through many compounds presumably handling oil or other fuels.

Pictnoms! (Starting downstream, heading up.)
