Well I finally got to go on a day it was bright enough to take photos!
For those who don't know Cairndhu House here's a little background!
Cairndhu Hospital was originally a house owned by Stewart Clark, a rich textile industrialist, in 1875 but was changed into a convalescent hospital in 1950. It was later closed in 1986 and was left to rot over time. The building has stood every storm and still stands strongly, despite the fact that the structures themselves are starting to rot and cave in. A creepy atmosphere beholds the place as local rumors refer to it as an “asylum” or that it attracts people with an interest in dark arts which becomes clear with the symbols all over the house become more vivid the farther you go. I always thought it would be haunted or some shit but after 3 or 4 visits, both in the dead of night and broad day light I can tell you its not. This place has practically become part of the Carnfunnock Country Park Trail with the amount of people that flock to it with their families (yes we came across two mums' and their kids outside it) and dog walkers. It's an interesting place but is definitely decaying.
We entered through the front door which has now been kicked in or removed in some way (on prior attempts we had to go through a second story window) and got straight in without any bother - it's like they're trying to invite people in now.

It's certainly a fun sight and has a lot of ties to "satanists" but I'll believe it when I see them there haha, it's become a real hot bed for graffiti and people going to see it after Ridley Scotts (woeful) film Morgan came out which is featured in the movie. It's classed as Northern Ireland's most "haunted house" but I don't think so. Anytime I've been there it's more alive people than dead!
